The Faculty of Law was established in 2012 and consists of 5 academic groups: «Private Law», «Criminal Law and Criminology», «Intellectual Property Law», «Public Law» and «International Law». In the departments of Private Law and Criminal Law and Criminology, student admission is done at two levels: Master's and Doctoral. However, in the other three departments, student admission is only at the Master's level. Before the establishment of the Faculty of Law, the aforementioned groups were active in the Faculty of Humanities, and this faculty has 28 faculty members, including permanent and visiting faculty.
The Criminal Law and Criminology degree program provides students with the opportunity to become familiar with the legal principles and rules related to crimes and punishments. The course examines topics such as definitions of crimes, criminal trial processes, defendants' rights and punishments, as well as analyzing the causes and social and psychological factors of criminology. Students in this course acquire the ability to analyze criminal and criminological issues and are prepared for work in the judicial sector, legal consulting, and social and criminological research.
